CCH Practice Profile

As an architectural practice we have carried out a wide range of work which has lead to 23 separate awards between 1981 and the present.

The majority of our work consists of Social Housing, a field in which Principal Geoff Carter has many years experience satisfying the requirements of our Housing Association & Corporation clients and the NHBC. In addition we are members of Construction Line and also members of and assessors for the National Home Energy Rating scheme.

Although much of our work is of a traditional nature we are excited by the emerging possibilities presented by inner city regeneration & refurbishment as well as the growing acceptance of a more enlightened approach to housing as found in Holland and Scandinavia.

In addition the practice has strong links with the Civic Trust through Consultant Bob Cullen, and a particular interest in the conservation of our historic buildings and environment.

Our interest & enterprise in Urban Design, site analysis and environmental impact is very wide and we are members of BURA.

The practice is committed to the use of Computer Aided Design as a means to more efficient working practices as well as the exciting new possibilities it offers for design and visualisation techniques.

The practice also takes environmental issues seriously and maintains links through Associate Architect Liam Doherty with the Green Architecture movement.
